Whiteboard Tools Explained

You have the freedom to draw all over the whiteboard. When you upload a slide, you can annotate it with the whiteboard tools (pictured below). These tools are available to all users so be democratic - let your friends draw, draw something yourself, then clear it all and start all over again. There are quite a few elements in the whiteboard tools, so please take time to explore each of the tools to discover everything that is available.

Notes on Whiteboarding:

  • When you have selected a tool or option it will highlight as active.
  • You must choose a color and opacity level before you draw or add to a slide.
  • The color and opacity of an object cannot be changed once placed on a slide. The  default color is black and the default opacity is 100%.
  • "Undo" removes the changes that you have made to the whiteboard.
  • "Clear" removes all changes made to the whiteboard by any user.
  • Drawings, stamps, and shapes appear in the whiteboard as you make them or as soon as you release the mouse button. However, text works differently. Text will not appear until you either click on the whiteboard or select another whiteboard tool after you have finished typing.

You now have the option to password protect your new Huddles.

The Add a Huddle dialog gives you the option to enter a password, which you'll need to provide to participants on your own. We are developing the ability to invite people directly to your Huddle and this will help you get more participants - as well as automatically supply the password - more on that later. Read more...

You may have noticed, particularly on laptops with widescreen resolutions (e.g. 1280x800), that the lower portion of your Huddles is missing. This is especially true if you are using a browser with tabs and some extra toolbars (as shown below), as it pushes the Huddle even further down the screen. We are currently working on the issue, so hang tight and we'll implement a permanent solution soon.  In the mean time, keep reading for a suggestion...
